One of the highlights of Maui! Visiting Momona is a must if you’re in the area. Super cute bright place with friendly service and AMAZING food. We had the avocado toast with egg and it was so fresh and delicious, it was a great way to begin our day of adventuring. We took some pastries to go and they hit the spot! Everything is home made and portions are generous. You will not be disappointed.

What an amazing pastry and coffee shop! The staff were so friendly in taking our orders and the display of pastries is so impressive! It was very difficult to make decisions on what to order. We ended up getting a breakfast sandwich, cinnamon roll, and chocolate croissant. I also had a latte. Everything was just so flavorful! Even the latte was nice and complex. We sat in the “vault” as the shop was previously a bank. Highly recommend checking this spot out! I can’t wait to go back and try more pastries and empanadas!

First time in Kahului and was lucky enough to visit Momona twice for delicious pastry cream, dulce de leche, pistachio croissants. For breakfast cream cheese, salmon pastry was heavenly delicious ???? oh and the coffee amazing ????

I love both the food and the atmosphere. Their Argentinian desserts and pastries are delicious and very fresh. I love how they integrated the history of the place and a boho modern look by leaving the bank vault. It’s a nice place to work on your computer and drink coffee or to try a different type of dessert on the island. The employees were also super nice. They gave us some recommendations and were all smiley. Keep it up!

The coffee was good. I tried a coconut flavor and I wish I hadn't. The service was great and they remade a couple of our drinks. They also have some great pastries/sandwiches. The focaccia mortadella sandwich was bomb. The turkey on fresh sourdough was amazing too. My only suggestion would be to get rid of the beepers. They're constantly going off around you and messes with the vibe.

This is officially my absolute favorite coffee shop I've ever been to (which is sad because I don't live anywhere near here ). EVERYTHING was so good and the place is beautiful! The pastries are all incredible! You can tell they really care about their craft with how amazing the pastries are! I can't stop thinking about the quiche and the fruit tart. Their nitro latte was also the best nitro cold brew I have ever had. No where else compares.

Cute little bakery in Kahului, near the airport. Has a tiny parking lot. It does get a bit busy, so go early or on a weekday. Stayed at a hotel around the area, so it was a quick drive to the bakery. Service was just ok. We weren't greeted both times (2nd time, we were the only ones in line). Came back a few times because their croissants are delicious and huge. Plan to share it with some. We got a few different ones, but decided to go back for the Nutella one. Make sure to spread the Nutella before cutting it because i had about 90% of the filling and the other person only had 10%. Will definitely go back when we're back on Maui.

Maui's main town area, known as Kahului, is not huge. The main area is centered around a Whole Foods Market and the drug store next door. Across the street, is a nice coffee spot called Momona Coffee and Bakery. It's super cute inside, and the staff is helpful. However, I wouldn't suggest coming here to relax. When we visited, the line to order was 20 minutes long on a Sunday morning around 930am. It is, though, next to the cruise port as well, and less than 5 minutes from the end of the pedestrian walkway from the ship, which may have contributed to the lengthy line. Since they stay busy, they give loud buzzers that beep incessantly when your order is ready. The line can be shorter at later times in the day, and on Monday morning around 10am it was closer to 10 minutes. We also came later just before close on Sunday - there was no line then, and were still very accommodating. All that said, coffee/espresso was solid, lattes were great (and yes, they have oat milk), and so, so many pastries. I got the alfajores, an Argentinian dulce de leche cookie sandwich: both the traditional and the chocolate versions. The traditional alfajor wins hands-down. Keep note of their hours: they close at 4pm daily during the week, and a bit earlier on the weekends.

Such an adorable coffee shop! We happened upon Momona while we were waiting for some friends to arrive at the airport and needed a caffeine fix but were immediately enticed by the gorgeous display of baked goods staring at us as we waited in line. The croissants are massive and definitely shareable! We ordered a breakfast sandwich and lilikoi croissant, and between my husband, myself, and our toddler, we just barely managed to scarf it down. The lilikoi croissant had the perfect balance of sweet and tart and was perfect with an earthy matcha latte. Plenty of seating inside if you want to hang out or take your goods to go.
